Robin's Boat
My brother Robin has been
building himself a boat to live on.
He wanted reasonable accommodation so a catamaran seemed the best option. After a good deal of research he decided on a Richard Woods' design called a Flica 34. He bought the plans, hired a shed and set to work. |
As he had to earn a living while this was going on, it all had to be done at evenings and week-ends |
One day this will be a luxury bedroom. |
Controls for twin Yanmar diesels. Instruments include compass, depth, log and wind. |
Almost completed in the shed with Christine and Robin in the foreground. |
Careful haulage by John O'Neill Transport - through Dublin at 04:30 a.m., taking up two traffic lanes. |
Lining up the crane for lifting off the trailer. |
Ready to go as the sun rises. |
up up and away..... |
Afloat - everyone can breathe again. |
